Weather permitting, we fly every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday.
Dick Skerry is CFI and manages the weekend flying, Richard Walker is the Wednesday instructor. Katharine York and Paul Kerman support with introductory flights at weekends and some Wednesdays. On occasions you may see Derek Woodforth (CFI at Shenington Gliding Club).
The club’s origins date back to 1966, and has been based at Strubby since 1978. No gliding site is perfect, and ours comes with its own advantages and disadvantages.
The airfield was constructed to meet the needs of bombers in the Second World War.
