Having spotted on Facebook that Lincolnshire Gliding Club do one day gliding courses Paul Whitelam booked one and duly turned up at Strubby to experience piloting a glider. Paul is an experienced pilot of both powerplanes and helicopters and it didn’t take him many launches before he was flying the launch, circuit and landing as well as helping launch the glider when Tom, the other course member, was flying. We hope you both had an enjoyable day. Thanks to our very experienced instructor Derek and his crew of Ann, John aka “Maverick”, Malc, Pat, Paul and “Swiss” John.
As we’re approaching autumn the soaring opportunities decrease but now is a great time to start learning to fly a glider. Weather permitting we fly right through the winter on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Why not come along and start your gliding journey. We offer pro-rata full membership so joining on 1st. October to take you to renewal time on 1st. April 2025 will only cost £150, and it’s even cheaper if you’re 18 or under. Winch launches are £10 and glider time is 50 pence per minute. It’s a bargain.
